Two Spoons Rolls Out Protein-Enriched Ice Cream with GLP-1-Friendly Elements

Two Spoons Creamery has rolled out a new range of high-protein ice cream that purportedly is the first of its type with zero added sugar and ingredients that are GLP-1 medication compatible. The product is designed to appeal to healthy consumers who look for indulgent yet healthy frozen treats.
The ice cream comes in four flavors: Rocky Road, Strawberries & Cream, Caramel Swirl, and Fudgy Brownie, each with 30g of protein per serving. The allulose low-calorie natural sweetener is used to sweeten the product, a sweetener that has been linked to the release of GLP-1, a hormone involved in appetite and blood sugar regulation.
As per coherent market insights, the artisanal ice cream industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.8% during the forecast period of 2025-2032. The industry is expected to be valued at USD 68.41 Bn in 2025 and is expected to reach USD 94.98 Bn by 2032. Industry size is being driven by growing health awareness among the populace.
Co-founders Rich Ferreira and Gabe Zichermann created the product to address their own dietary needs. Ferreira was frustrated with the "healthy" ice creams available that were not flavorful or textural, and Zichermann wanted to include more protein-dense, low-glycemic ingredients in his diet, especially since he is on a health regimen using GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy.
“We spent a full year perfecting our Rocky Road flavor, ensuring it meets both taste and nutritional standards,” said Ferreira. “Our goal was to create a product that doesn’t compromise on flavor while providing significant health benefits.”
The ice cream has an assortment of mix-ins consisting of salted caramel, natural strawberry jam, and fudgy brownies, all intended to heighten the all-around food experience. As per the firm, substituting olive oil for less expensive seed oils yet again adds to the health value of the product.
This introduction comes at a time when consumer demand for functional foods that provide health benefits without compromising taste is on the rise. With the market for high-protein and low-sugar foods growing, Two Spoons is looking to become a leader in the premium frozen dessert market.
"GLP-1s are getting more and more on the table in the discussion of weight control," said Zichermann. "Our ice cream provides a satisfying option for people who want to indulge in an old favorite without compromising their nutritional targets."
Two Spoons Creamery has already achieved several retail partnerships and investments prior to its official launch, demonstrating strong market demand. The product can be ordered for national shipping on the company's website and through delivery services such as DoorDash and Uber Eats in specific California cities.
