
Lactalis UK & Ireland is introducing a new range of protein products under the Lindahls brand in response to increasing demand from consumers for dairy protein.
The new range features high-protein, low-fat cheese variants like Cottage Cheese, Gouda Slices, Greek Cheese and Quark. The range "addresses affluent, urban 45+ shoppers who exercise frequently and are looking for protein for weight management and maintenance, and muscle recovery," the company states.
The range also includes two new collagen-fat-free, flavored protein milk drinks. On retail from March.
According to Coherent Market Insights, the functional protein industry is anticipated to expand at a CAGR of 5% in the forecast period 2025-2032 attributable to growing health and nutrition consciousness among consumers. The industry is anticipated to be valued at US$ 7.66 Bn by 2032.
The rising awareness regarding proper digestion and fitness contributes to improved diet and overall health, driving the demand for the global functional protein industry. Also, the global functional protein industry is expected to experience steady growth over the next five years says CMI’s senior management consultant Yash Doshi.

The Range Consists Of:
Lindahls Protein Cottage Cheese (175g): A rich and versatile product with 14% protein (25g per pot) and 0.7% fat. It's skimmed milk-based vegetarian and lactose-free.
Lindahls Protein Gouda Slices (5-slice pack): These tasty, meltable slices have 30% protein (38g per pack) and are vegetarian. Lactalis said the product offers a high-protein alternative to standard cheese slices.
Lindahls Protein Greek Cheese (135g): This "crumbly" cheese provides 20% protein (27g per pack) and is lower in fat (10%).
Lindahls Protein Quark (500g): Creamy, fat-free soft cheese with 13% protein (65g per pot).
Lindahls Protein Milk with Collagen (500ml): In chocolate and strawberry flavors, with 38g protein, 11g collagen, and no added sugars.
The Lindahls Protein Cottage Cheese and Protein Gouda Slices will be on sale in Waitrose from 19 March. They will also be available in Ocado from 26 March. The range will be launched in Morrisons stores in May.
