Fresh Express is launching three new global-inspired Chopped Salad Kits in the US as it expands its value-added convenience salad portfolio.
The new Creamy Goddess Chopped Salad Kit consists of iceberg and green leaf lettuce, combined with carrots and red cabbage and topped with queso fresco, roasted salted pumpkin seeds, and freeze-dried corn. The salad is completed with a creamy cilantro cotija dressing that provides 'vibrant Mexican-inspired flavors'.
Also entering the range is the new Farmhouse Ranch Chopped Salad Kit, which is a 'homely American classic'. It includes Romaine lettuce, red cabbage and carrots, tossed with garlic brioche croutons and crispy garlic pepper onions. The blend of cheese adds depth, while farmhouse ranch dressing provides a creamy finish.
Lastly, the Orange Sesame Chopped Salad Kit brings together green leaf lettuce, kale and red and green cabbage, toasted sesame sticks and honey-sliced almonds. Finished with freshly made orange miso vinaigrette, the salad presents a citrusy mix of Asian-inspired flavor in a light, easy-to-serve form.
Each of the kits is designed to provide lively textures and well-balanced flavors and hopes to enable consumers to experience a restaurant-quality salad at home.
Fabian Pereira, Fresh Express's vice president of marketing and innovation, stated: "We have learned that consumers today are shopping for more than a simple salad – they expect bold flavors, interesting textures, and international influences. These new kits allow them to have those experiences at home easily without any extra kitchen effort."
Available in stores across the country on 21 May, the kits, created by the chef, respond to the increasing consumer appetite for strong, globally inspired flavors that make home eating simple and interesting.
