Audi is gearing up to launch the new technologies and products across categories in the Indian car market in the coming future.
After a few years, Audi will gain momentum and reinvigorated its energy in the Indian automotive market. In 2019, the German carmaker launched new and facelifted models such as the A8 L limousine, Q8 SUV, A6 sedan, and more recently, the company launched the second-generation RS7 Sportback. Now, the company is all set to revive the brand, the automaker is planning to bring new products and technologies to India in the coming future. According to a member of the board of management for Sales and Marketing at Audi AG, Hildegard Wortmann, the German carmaker has made a five-year plan for India.
Moreover, Wortmann said that the company is gearing up to launch the new technologies and products across categories, from SUVs to compacts to sedans, in the coming future. However, Audi has not revealed more details about future launches. Moreover, the company is all set to launch the RS Q8 SUV in India in August 2020. Vehicles such as the Q2 SUV, the new A4 sedan, facelifted Q7 sedan, facelifted Q5, new A3, and second-generation Q3 are being lined up for a launch in the Indian market.
Audi’s luxury car segment accounted for only 1.2% of the Indian automotive market, with projected sales of 35,000 to 38,000 units in 2019. By 2024, Audi plans to invest around US$ 14.07 billion (€12 billion) in the electric vehicle segment to speed up the development of the new products and technologies. Moreover, Audi aims to add around 30 electrified models into the company’s portfolio by 2025, of which 20 vehicles will be all-electric. The company is banking on synergies with other Volkswagen Group companies to achieve such ambitious goals. Moreover, the company is planning to launch the all-electric e-Tron SUV in the coming future, the vehicle has already been showcased in India.
