In September 2021, Spain-based Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Denmark-based Orsted, a global wind leader, opened a new nacelle assembly facility at the Port of Taichung, Taiwan. This facility marks their first manufacturing site in the Asia Pacific region and their first outside of Europe. It is expected to produce nacelles for Orsted's 900MW Greater Changua 1 & 2a offshore wind farms in Taiwan.
