Key players are strategically investing in development of innovative product and launch activities, which is fueling growth of the global stretch and shrink sleeves packaging market.
- For instance, in 2013, The Coca-Cola Company launched new shrink sleeve packaging solution for the full bottle labelling in market. New shrink sleeves offer rich color shades and perfect design. The materials used for stretch and shrink sleeve packaging such as PVC and PETG that are difficult to separate from PET bottles during the recycling process as resulted in contaminated batch of PET. This new technology is applied to other plastics and packaging products where cross contamination of materials creates a roadblock for recycling processors.
- In June 2019, Garware Polyester, film manufacturer in India, launched medium shrink and low shrink force PET films. The low shrink films are designed for HDPE and LLDPE containers where high shrink force cannot be applied for shrinking films over container.
- In March 2016, Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury, manufacturer of printed shrink sleeves and lids, produced the shrink sleeves for new water range of water from the Powerful Water Company (POW). The company also launched ultra-thin shrink sleeves in March 2016. These new sleeves help to reduce unit cost and environmental impact of their packaging.
- In April 2014, Sleever International, launched shrink sleeves made from low density PET to help manufacturers meet recyclability objective.
