On January 10, 2023, Last Mile Education Fund and Dow announced a collaborative fund to invest in low-income students nearing completion of their manufacturing and skilled trades programs at institutions in Dow communities. The Dow Last Mile Fund for Manufacturing & Skilled Trades aims to create a more robust, diverse and readily available technical talent pipeline.
On October 11, 2022, Honeywell announced a new, innovative ethanol-to-jet fuel (ETJ) processing technology that allows producers to convert corn-based, cellulosic, or sugar-based ethanol into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Depending on the type of ethanol feedstock used, jet fuel produced from Honeywell’s ethanol-to-jet fuel process can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80% on a total lifecycle basis, compared to petroleum-based jet fuel.1 Development for this technology was undertaken at the Honeywell India Technology Center in Gurugram.
On December 15th 2022, Eastman has signed a partnership agreement with the environmental nongovernmental organization SOS Mata Atlântica and Bracell, a soluble cellulose producer, to donate 15,000 seedlings in support of a program designed to help restore the Brazilian Atlantic Forest.
