In July 2020, according to Herald Mail Media, Humane Society of Washington County, U.S, conducted a curb-side checking and treatment for local pet owners amid COVID-19 situation. The Curb side checking will offer vaccinations, microchip, license, and flea- and tick-prevention services.
In 2018, Virbac Corporation, announced that pet owners using BackHome microchips have to register their newly implanted microchips with the U.K.-based reunification database, PETtrac (UK). The transfer of RFID microchips to pet owners will be free of cost after the compulsory microchipping law in April 2016. The law states that puppies have to be microchipped by 8 weeks of age and the breeder has to be recorded as the first keeper.
