On February 13, 2024, Masimo, a medical technology company, announced that it had received an approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for Over-the-Counter fingertip pulse oximeter, used for accurate and reliable oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate (PR) measurements on patients of all skin colors and patients with low perfusion.
