In August 2019, Domo Chemicals, a manufacturer of engineering materials and sustainable plastics solutions provider entered into an agreement with Solvay to acquire its performance polyamides business in Europe which is valued at US$ 330.43 million, The acquisition includes the purchase of engineering plastics operations in France and Poland, high performance fibers in France, and polymer and intermediates operations in France, Spain and Poland.
In July 2012, AXA Private Equity, a Europe’s private equity firm financed the Qualium Investissement to acquire Kermel, a manufacturer of fire resistant polyamide-imide (PAI) fibers for textile, technical and industrial applications from Equistone Partners Europe. This financing by AXA Private Equity aimed to provide an indirect opportunity for Kermel to strengthen its position in the global market.
In March 2017, Solvay, a supplier of specialty polymers announced that its high-performance Torlon polyamide-imide (PAI) will be used by Performance Plastics Ltd, an injection molder of engineered components to develop its new line of EnduroSharp Scraper Blades for aerospace maintenance applications.
