On January 8, 2024, OrthoPediatrics Corp., a company focused exclusively on advancing the field of pediatric orthopedics, announced that it has acquired Boston Orthotics & Prosthetics (“Boston O&P”), a leader in pediatric orthotic management. The acquisition expands specialty bracing division with pediatric orthotic management business offering leading technology and pediatric care through dedicated clinics.
In November 2021, Össur, a manufacturer of non-invasive equipment for orthopedics, announced that it had launched three new models of its iconic Cheetah sports prosthesis, which have been designed for amputee athletes who are participating in specific athletic applications, including sprinting, distance running, and long jumping.
In November 2022, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Rwanda, in partnership with Swiss Limbs, Non-profit organization in Bellinzona, Switzerland and Home de la Vierge des Pauvres (HVP) Gatagara, a center for medical care, launched a 3D computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing of orthotics and prosthetics. The novel technology will help to improve the efficiency and quality of the limbs produced
In March 2022, Exactech, a developer and producer of innovative implants, instrumentation and smart technologies for joint replacement surgery, announced the launch of Equinoxe Humeral Reconstruction Prosthesis in Europe. It is designed for intraoperative flexibility and patient-specific sizing.
In July 2020, Fillauer LLC, one of the global leaders in orthotic and prosthetic innovation, in collaboration with FabCo Prosthetic Designs, provider of fabrication services to prosthetic clinics nationwide, developed FabCo Powered.
