- In November 2015, NIDEK CO., LTD, a global developer, manufacturer, and distributor of ophthalmic, optometric, and lens edging equipment, launched the TONOREF III Auto Ref /Kerato/Tono/Pachymeter. The new device combines the functionality of multiple devices such as an auto-refractometer, auto-keratometer, non-contact tonometer and non-contact pachymeter into one device.
- In April 2016, ArcScan, Inc, a developer of medical imaging devices, received CE Marking certification for its ultrasound ophthalmic device, ArcScan Insight 100, to commercialize the device in 30 nations of European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
