It is a rolling cart that carries either a tablet or monitor to conduct virtual visits. Its design can accommodate a number of accessories like wipe containers and baskets. The tablet variation also features a tablet lock to hold the charging cable in place.
According to an article published by the Journal Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology on September 2, 2020, Immuno-compromised patients are at risk for infections due to above-ceiling activities in hospitals. Mobile dust-containment carts (MDCC) are available as environmental controls. In the article, efficacy study of these carts was carried out. This study was conducted at a 923-bed academic medical center that requires the use of barriers for above-ceiling access in the highest risk areas based on an infection control risk assessment. Overall, 3 MDCCs with high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration were used during above-ceiling activities in November–December 2019. In total, 48 fungal air samples and 96 particle counts were collected. It was concluded that when used correctly, the Mobile dust-containment carts are effective barriers for reducing the risk of potential pathogenic exposures during above-ceiling activities in areas with critically ill and immunocompromised patients.
On December 24, 2021, Advantech Co. Ltd., a China-based multinational medical devices company, announced the latest addition to its AMiS product line– the AMiS-30EP pole cart. It is built to round out the AMiS product line by providing a fully configurable mobile cart option, AMiS-30EP is a lightweight pole-based rolling stand that can be equipped with various monitors and devices according to specific application requirements.
