In September 2020, Teleflex Medical OEM (Original equipment manufacturer), a U.S.-based manufacturer of micro-diameter tubing, specialty wire, and medical equipment, announced expansion of its Trenton, Georgia, U.S. facility. The facility adds 16,000 square feet as a result of the project, which houses support operations, an expanded film-cast tubing center, and a remodeled wire production space. Increased capacity was required as a result of growing domestic and worldwide demand for Teleflex Medical OEM's cutting-edge medical goods.
In May, 2021, Viant, a U.S.-based global provider medical instruments, announced that it completed over US$ 8 million expansion at its Orthopedic Implant and Coating Center of Excellence in Chaumont, France. The expansion comprises a new building with a controlled-environment room and an investment in vacuum plasma spray (VPS) coating technology. Viant's capabilities as a single-source supplier of Precision metal tubes made of stainless steel have been enhanced, and the company now has the immediate capacity to work with more orthopedic customers.
On February 2, 2022, Zeus Company Inc., a U.S.-based material science innovator, announced that it has added Sub-Lite-Wall multi-lumen tubing to its product portfolio. Zeus has extended its multi-lumen extrusion capabilities to ultra-thin walls. Zeus can produce Sub-Lite-Wall multi-lumens with average max wall thicknesses ranging from 0.002" to 0.005" (0.051 mm to 0.127 mm). In addition to ultra-thin walls, the new product features high structural integrity, improved planarity, high lubricity, and excellent dielectric strength. It is biocompatible (certified USP Class VI) and has a working temperature of 260 °C (500 °F).
On September 14, 2020, Saint-Gobain, a France-based company that designs, manufactures and distributes materials and solutions for the construction, mobility, and industrial markets, has announced the acquisition of MS Techniques, a France-based medical components company, and its sister company Transluminal Technologies, LLC, a U.S.-based developer of intellectual property related to interventional cardiovascular medical devices. MS Techniques and Transluminal have a strong track record of developing catheter technologies that fit the needs of their customers. Its acquisition will help, Saint-Gobain medical device industry to deliver minimally invasive innovation.
