Advancements in manufacturing processes
Advancements in manufacturing processes are significantly contributing to the expanding magnetite nanoparticles market. Traditional manufacturing methods such as chemical co-precipitation produced relatively large, irregularly shaped nanoparticles with low crystallinity and purity. However, modern techniques allow for finer control over particle morphology, size, crystallinity, and composition. For instance, hydrothermal synthesis utilizes high temperature and pressure aqueous conditions to facilitate crystallization and grain growth. This leads to highly crystalline, uniform magnetite nanoparticles with diameters tunable at the nanoscale. Similarly, microemulsions provide nanometer-sized reaction vessels conducive for manufacturing monodisperse nanoparticles. The confined environment during microemulsion synthesis enables precise control over particle growth. Other novel processes, such as high energy ball milling and electrospinning, have also been developed to commercially produce low-cost, large volume magnetite nanomaterials.
