In April 2021, Aguas de Manizales, a Colombia-based water provider that serves the capital of the Caldas department, announced a 137-billion-peso (US$ 38 million) tender to develop and operate a new wastewater treatment plant in the city's Los Cámbulos area. The project comprises the construction of a plant capable of treating an average of 320l/s when it begins operations in 2022, increasing to 520l/s by 2034. Food and beverage, chemical processing, and pharmaceutical industries also boost the market growth.
