Global Liquid-Immersed Transformers Market: Key Developments
- In April 2018, ABB announced the launch of ABB Ability TXplore, a service solution that deploys a submersible transformer inspection robot. The wireless robot can be maneuvered through a liquid-filled power transformer to perform fast, safe and cost effective internal inspection, which can be shared remotely close to real time with global experts.
- In May 2018, ABB has launched the world’s first digital distribution transformer TXpertTM which turns insights into actions by providing valuable information on how the transformer and grid are operating. It measures, stores and analyzes key parameters so customers can make informed decisions for increasing their grid reliability and reducing O&M `costs.
- In May 2018, Siemens Liquid-Immersed Distribution Transformers (LIDT) division has started the production of offshore wind turbine transformers in Jinan, China.
- In August 2016, Siemens received Rs 217 crore order from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh. The order is for supply of 400kV/230 kV switch yard equipment, reactors, power transformers, firefighting systems, air-conditioning systems, auxiliary power system, building management systems, illumination systems.engineering for civil and plant for 500 MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Station
- In October 2015, Tata Power partnered with Cargill and Schneider Electric to provide two 25 MVA natural filled transformer. Under the partnership, Cargill will provide its Environtemp FR3 fluid (natural ester) which will help in extending the life and loading capacity of Schneider's transformer with a smaller footprint as well as reduce the risk of fire in electrical installation. Cargill's Envirotemp FR3 fluid (natural ester) and Schneider Electric's transformers will reduce risk of fire in the electrical installation.
