- For instance, in the fall of 2016, Cgrain AB (a Sweden based analytical instruments manufacturing company), installed their new ‘Cgrain Value image analysis instrument’ at Lantmännen’s oat mill in Sweden. This instrument has capacity to handle about 45,000 metric tons of oats/year and assess the grain quality on the basis of single kernel analysis. Instruments is equipped to handle various other grains such as wheat, rye, triticale and barley.
- Moreover, in December 2014, PerkinElmer, Inc (an analytical instruments manufacturer), acquired Perten Instruments Group AB. Pertan is a Sweden based global market leader engaged in supplying advanced analytical instruments used for quality testing of food, grain, flour and feed. This acquisition is expected to expand Perkin Elmer’s product portfolio of food testing instruments.
- Furthermore, in June 2019, Perkin Elmer launched new ‘AuroFlow AQ Afla Strip Test’ which is to be used with PerkinElmer’s QuickSTAR Horizon strip reader which can be used by farmers. Test would provide rapid detection and first-round screening of mycotoxins such as aflatoxins like B1 B2, G1 and G2 in grains. This was aimed at detecting toxic compounds at detection levels of 2 to 300 parts per billion in period of six minutes.
