Global Fiber Laser Market: Key Developments
- In November 2018, IPG Photonics Corporation, manufacturer of high-power industrial fiber lasers and amplifiers, announced the release of a new generation of high power lasers. These new lasers feature industry-leading reliability with multi-year service-free operation, the industry’s smallest weight and size, and the industry’s highest wall plug efficiencies.
- In December 2017, AdValue introduced Photonics' fiber lasers. The performance characteristics of this fiber lasers enabled glass hole drilling with unmatched hole quality and process speed.
- In March 2016, Coherent Inc., one of the world’s largest purveyors of scientific, commercial and industrial lasers and associated technology, acquired ROFIN-SINAR Technologies. Both companies are working to develop high-power fiber lasers as the industrial sector moves away from carbon dioxide sources to adopt solid-state technology.
- In February 2015, Calmar Laser, Inc. introduced two new models of its Cazadero family of fiber-based femtosecond laser products. The Cazadero FLCPA-05O will be offered in both 1300nm and 1700 nm wavelengths, and are specifically designed for deep tissue multiphoton microscopy applications.
- In July 2014, Newport Corporation acquired V-Gen Ltd. to enhance company’s fiber laser products and technology. Moreover, this acquisition helps to expand company’s reach into application areas such as precision micromachining, marking and LIDAR applications.
