Limitations of facial skin analyzers such as in-accuracy in face detection and loss of functioning in low light are expected to restrain growth of the market. For instance, researchers at the MIT Media Lab, in August 2018, found that face analyzers are less accurate for people with darker skin tones and do not work well in low light. Moreover, concerns over accuracy of facial recognition systems were raised when the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) released the results of Rekognition, a face identifier and analyzer manufactured by Amazon, misidentified 28 members of Union in July 2018.
