According to the directive made by European Commission named as ‘separate waste collection’ mandatory in 2015, which means that waste will be separately collected as paper, metal, plastic, and glass waste, to improve waste management practices. The commission is also planning to launch a separate collection system for bio-wastes by December 31, 2023, and a system for textile and hazardous household wastes by January 1, 2025. These directives or regulations on waste management are expected to drive demand for trash bags over the forecast period. The European Commission directive 2018/851 recital 41 illustrates the importance of separate collection of waste. It states that separate collection of wastes increases recycling rates, enables high quality recycling, and boosts the uptake of quality secondary raw materials.
