In October 2021, Brace Social,- a Ireland-based technology startup,  announced the launch of a new and free social rehabilitation platform which enables users to take control of their injury recovery journey, while supporting others and facilitating an understanding of the living experience during rehabilitation. The platform, which is at the beta stage of development, supports users in managing the physical and mental aspects of the injury recovery process through digital exercise tracking and progress management, peer insights into injury rehabilitation, and community support and motivation.

In October 2020, Bioness, Inc., a provider of clinically supported rehabilitation therapies, announced the commercial launch of the new Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS) for Balance. BITS Balance is a multidisciplinary therapy solution for rehabilitation. BITS Balance adds hardware to track patient’s movements allowing clinicians to challenge, assess, and track patient balance throughout the treatment of all patients

In June 2021, NuvoAir Inc.,- a Sweden-based digital health company,  raised US$ 12 million to expand its chronic disease management and clinical trial platforms. The platform's technologies include a Bluetooth-enabled spirometer to remotely monitor lung function, a sensor that attaches to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) inhalers, and Fitbit integration. The latest addition to the platform is NuvoAir Cough that assesses changes in coughing while the patient was sleeping.

In 2021, HI, an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster; launched Open Tele Rehab software in Vietnam, with the goal of providing rehabilitation services to isolated populations.

New product Launches

The establishment of new platforms regarding telerehabilitation systems is expected to drive Europe telerehabilitation systems market growth over the forecast period. In December 2021, Solera Health,- a platform for connecting people to health solutions, announced the launch of its new Musculoskeletal (MSK) offering through digital MSK therapy solutions: SWORD Health, Kaia Health, and Sworkit. Through its growing network evidence-based digital interventions, Solera Health’s new MSK offerings address a continuum of musculoskeletal conditions through sub-clinical services including preventive wellness, injury, and chronic condition management, as well as pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation.

In August 2022, Aseptika Ltd,- a U.K.-based medical supply store., announced collaboration with the University of Birmingham,- a public research university, University of York,- a collegiate research university, and the National Audit of Cardiac Rehabilitation (NACR),- a British Heart Foundation, funded strategic project that combines data from cardiac rehabilitation programmes across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland,  to study the impact of cardiac rehabilitation that combines in-person coaching, remote monitoring, and patient education and support. Delivery of the hybrid cardiac rehabilitation was done through Aseptika Ltd’s Active+me REMOTE digital platform, which was launched  in 2022.
