Recent Developments:
In August 2021, Digital Diagnostics (formerly known as IDx) has acquired dermatology focused startup 3Derm. In 2018 Digital Diagnostics landed a De Novo to market its AI-based software system for the autonomous detection for diabetic retinopathy in adults who have diabetes named IDx-DR.
In September 2020, Skin Analytics, a U.K.-based startup that has developed a skin cancer screening service that uses artificial intelligence, has raised £4 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Hoxton Ventures, with participation from Nesta and Mustard Seed Ventures.
In October 2019, a study published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, investigators tested the app’s claimed that SkinVision app can play a crucial role in early skin cancer detection. They concluded that it is around 95.1% sensitive in its ability to identify the most common forms of skin cancer.

October 2019: SkinVision, achieved three ISO certifications. The British Standards Institution (BSI), awarded SkinVision ISO 13485:2016 for its quality management system. BSI awarded the company ISO 27001:2013 for information security management, as well as the Dutch national standard NEN 7510:2017, which includes additional requirements to ISO 27001:2013, specifically for healthcare providers in the Netherlands.
