New product launches
- On June 15, 2023, Nikon Instruments Inc., a division of the Nikon Corporation, which is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, launched "ECLIPSE Ui", an integrated digital microscope-based viewing system designed for both in-person clinical and remote pathological observation. The ECLIPSE Ui has been initially launched in Japan; U.S. and Europe. This will allow providing support to pathologists by improving the workflow of pathological observation.
- In December 2021, Vision Engineering Ltd, a manufacturer of patented ergonomic stereo microscopes, launched its first 4K resolution digital microscope, Makrolite 4K. Makrolite 4K’s image quality, 4K resolution and wide dynamic range are suitable for a wide range of complex and high contrast applications. It also provides more fine detail with greater detail shadow and highlight areas. Thus, it is ideal for challenging inspection routines, including reflective subjects, for example solder joints, subjects in shadow, or subjects with low contrast, such as rubber and plastic.
- In September 2019, GE Healthcare, a manufacturer of devices for diagnostics, therapeutics and monitoring, and others launched a new microscope to support researchers to see extreme details in cells, without having to choose between speed, depth or clarity, which is more important. The DeltaVision OMX Flex super-resolution microscope is a highly stable, multichannel imaging platform that is optimized for structured illumination microscopy (SIM), and includes EDGE confocal technology.
Acquisition and partnerships
- On May 8, 2023, Siemens Healthineers, a Germany based company, which provides healthcare solutions and services, entered into an agreement to distribute Scopio Labs', a provider of full field morphology, full-field digital cell morphology technology, which will enable clinical laboratories to examine patient blood cell samples digitally instead of under a microscope. The Scopio X100 and Scopio X100HT imaging platforms will complement the Siemens Healthineers systems and along with the Atellica HEMA 570 and Atellica HEMA 580 Analyzers, in order to offer labs high-resolution, full-field viewing for peripheral blood specimens and artificial intelligence-based morphological analysis with remote capabilities through the secure hospital network.
- In January 2022, ZEISS, a technology enterprise operating in the fields of optics and optoelectronics and Vision Engineering, a manufacturer of patented ergonomic stereo microscopes, entered into partnership to develop real-time extended depth of focus imaging available for more customer groups i.e., DeepFocus 1. DeepFocus 1 is the combination of the ZEISS Visioner 1 digital microscope with Micro-mirror Array Lens System (MALS) with Vision Engineering’s technical and design expertise. The attractive technology package, combined with the reach of ZEISS’ distributor community, and Vision Engineering’s own sales network will allow more users to benefit from the newly launched devices.
