In September 2019, Silvateam, a manufacturer of the food industry, oenology and beer, mainly pectin, tara gum, tannins entered a joint venture with JRS Group (a Germany-based manufacturer of organic fibers) to form JRS Silvateam Ingredients Srl. The new company will focus on production and marketing of pectin and texturizing systems. The joint venture will help Silvateam to expand its presence in the global pectin market.
In October 2019, Herbstreith & Fox, a manufacturer of pectin entered into a partnership with Algaia S.A. (a France-based manufacturer of seaweed extracts). Both companies will work together to offer a combination of alginates and pectin for baking applications. The products will be marketed as single ingredients or as a blend. The partnership will allow Herbstreith & Fox to expand its product portfolio.
