New Product Launches
- In January 2022, Sol-Millennium Inc., a manufacturer of needles, syringes, and blood collection devices, received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its proprietary Sol-Guard Safety Pull Button Blood Collection Set, the newest safety device in the company's blood collection portfolio. The blood collection set features spring-activated needle retraction technology, which is designed to minimize the risk of accidental needlesticks and exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- In June 2021, ILife India, launched pandemic-safe iSafety butterfly needles to prevent infections for healthcare staff administering IVs or drawing blood samples.
- In June 2020, BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a medical technology company, announced that it obtained the CE mark in Europe for the BD Vacutainer UltraTouch Push Button Blood Collection Set (BCS) with Preattached Holder. Moreover, the product with preattached holder will be launched in the U.S. under the previously cleared BD Vacutainer UltraTouch Push Button BCS

Acquisitions and Partnerships
- In March 2022, ICU Medical Inc., a medical device company, acquired Smiths Medical from Smiths Group plc, a British, multinational, diversified engineering business. The Smiths Medical business includes syringe and ambulatory infusion devices, vascular access, and vital care products. When combined with ICU Medical’s existing businesses, the combined companies would create a leading infusion therapy company with estimated combined revenues of approximately US$ 2.5 billion.
