On March 2020, QPA, a contract research organization (CRO), has launched an access restricted lab for conducting the preclinical and clinical trial that is capable of analyzing the coronavirus samples and samples containing other viruses. The company already has 30,000 square foot of Biosafety Level 2 laboratory space and post expansion the space has increased by 1,000 square feet space with other accessories such as multiple biosafety cabinets, freezers, casework etc.
In 2019, Thermo Fisher Scientific launched two class II biosafety cabinets, Herasafe and Maxisafe 2030i systems, which are more advanced as compared to the already available biosafety cabinets

In 2017, Panasonic Healthcare Corporation launched a new version of biosafety cabinet Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet which can be used for less to medium risk of research work, for drug preparation and product operations.
