In 2017, Solar Gard (Saint-Gobain’s performance plastics brand) launched its new bodywork protection films Clearshield Pro Hydro at SEMA Show (automotive specialty products trade event) held in Nevada, the U.S. The film is resistant to scuffs and impacts and has an advanced hydrophobic coating. The film also has self-healing properties.
In August 2018, Madico, Inc. (manufacturer of material-based solutions) launched a new line of automotive window film Black Pearl Nano Ceramic. The new films are made using advanced nano-ceramic technology which provides up to 87% infrared heat rejection, reduced glare, increased comfort and keeps vehicle interiors cool.
In 2017, Eastman Chemical Company increased the capacity of its performance film manufacturing plant based in Virginia, the U.S. It increased capacity for both window films and paint protection films to meet increasing demand for its LLumar and Suntek brands. The high performance films are used in automotive and architectural markets.
In 2017, Avery Dennison Corporation acquired Hanita Coatings, manufacturer of specialty films and laminates for automotive and architecture markets. This helped Avery Dennison to expand its product portfolio.
In May 2019, Lintec Corporation added six new varieties of medium grade films to its existing range of WINCOS AUTOMOTIVE FILMS. The new range will help Lintec to expand its existing product portfolio and increase its global presence.
