In April 16, 2020 Infineon Technologies AG announced today the closing of the acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. The San Jose-based company has become part of Infineon effective as of the Closing.

In November 2020, Infineon Technologies AG, Germany's largest semiconductor manufacturer and GT Advanced Technologies (GTAT), producer of silicon carbide and sapphire crystal materials for expanding markets such as electric vehicles, power electronics, aerospace and 5G telecom have signed a supply agreement for silicon carbide (Sic) boules. The high-performance power pack of Delco Remy 150MT enhances performance for quick engine starts. It further facilitates battery loading and various vehicle power sources. The 150MT covers practically every 12-volt and 24-volt application. It takes the help of an adjustable flange design. The integrated over-crank protection is a built-in circuit breaker that safeguards the starter from heat damage. It will also be available to aftermarket consumers.
