• In January 2018, Algalif, the U.S. based bulk producer of natural astaxanthin received a non GMO certification for its astaxanthin ingredients named Astalif 5% and 10% Oleoresin. The company is aiming to offer highest quality astaxanthin to the customers who wanted to avoid GMO’s in their products.
• In July 2017, Cyanotech Corporation received Halal certification for its raw material, BioAstin SCE 5 from the Islamic Food & Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA). This certification is expected to strengthen company’s sale in growing Southeast Asia. Moreover, BioAstin is the first astaxanthin product to receive verification seal from Natural Algae Astaxanthin Association (NAXA).     
• In July 2014, AstaReal Technology opened a new manufacturing site for natural astaxanthin production from algae. Addition of this new facility tripled company’s production capacity of natural astaxanthin in the U.S. The production of astaxanthin is based on AstaReal’s in-door bioreactor designed for yielding the quality of alga Haematococcus.
