In April 2023, 3M Health Care, a healthcare company launched its U.S. FDA-approved 3M SoluPrep S Sterile Antiseptic Solution, featuring chlorhexidine gluconate (2% w/v) and isopropyl alcohol (70% v/v), for patient preoperative skin preparation. The product demonstrates rapid, broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and persists for at least 96 hours post-preparation in healthy human volunteers.
