Anionic Surfactants Market Key Developments:
- In September 2018, Lion Corporation, a Japanese company based in Thailand announced its plans to expand its anionic surfactant production factory situated in Sriracha, Thailand. The expansion contract is given to the Desmet Ballestra Group which includes installation of a new 5.000 Kg/h sulphonation plant, which is expected to increase the overall factory capacity to 120.000 ton/y.
- In February 2019, Sirius International BV introduced two new 100% bio based surfactants, sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), and ethoxylated fatty alcohols (EFA). Sirius offers bio based ‘Ethoxybrite SLES’ which is a commonly used anionic surfactant in beauty and personal care products. This SLES is derived from palm kernel oil.
- In October 2019, BASF launched new surfactant Texapon SFA at the SEPAWA Congress 2019, Berlin which has been developed by RSPO-certified renewable resources. Texapon SFA is sustainable and biodegradable anionic surfactant. This surfactant finds application in personal care products which is expected to offer creamy, sulphate-free, stable, and mild foams.
