- In October 2020, Virox Animal Health, a chemical manufacturing company, announced that the Prevail Farm Disinfectant-Cleaner had been approved by Health Canada for providing protection against African Swine Fever Virus (ASFv).
- In March 2020, NEOGEN Corporation, a food safety company, launched the new COMPANION Foaming Antibacterial Soap. It is used to disinfect veterinary instruments, the hands of healthcare workers working in veterinary clinics, etc., in order to prevent the transmission of various infections to animals as well as humans.

- In September 2020, LANXESS, a chemical manufacturing company, announced that its two products, Virkon S & Virkon LSP, which are broad-spectrum disinfectants, had been studied by the Spanish Institute for Agriculture, Food Research, and Technology and the results demonstrated that the two products are effective against African Swine Fever (ASF). According to the results, the Virkon LSP achieved complete inactivation of the ASF virus at a 1:400 dilution rate with a 60 second contact time, killing the pathogen in just 15 seconds at a 1:100 dilution rate.
- In August 2020, Absorbine Pet Care, a manufacturer of pet care products, launched a pet safe, alcohol-free antiseptic coat spray. The spray can be used on the animal’s skin, coat, and paws and has been approved for daily use to prevent infections.
- In January 2020, Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, food safety, and hygiene technologies and services, announced that it had acquired CID Lines, a leading global provider of livestock biosecurity and hygiene solutions. This acquisition led to the formation of a new animal health division by Ecolab Inc.
