In August 2021, Indian Vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India has bought out the Indian partner in the SCHOTT Kaisha joint venture for an undisclosed amount. This development is aimed at helping Serum Institute to tie up its back-end supplies in the wake of global demands, as the JV makes pharma packaging products, including vials, syringes, ampoules and cartridges used to package life-saving medications.
In May 2021, Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd. Have announced to recruit 500 people to increase syringe production capacity to reach our target of 100 crore AD syringes production capacity.
In October 2020, Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd. has sent its first shipment of 56 million pieces of auto disable syringes to Covax facility for the continuous supply demand activity for safe and effective vaccine production
