On October 27, 2022, Naropa University launched New Online Bachelor's Degree in Art Therapy. In addition to a comprehensive study of the therapeutic theories needed to prepare for a career as an art therapist, students engage actively in contemplative exploration, personal art-making, and artist identity development. An important part of this mindful approach for the new online format.
On July 21, 2023, Driscoll Children's Hospital, a pediatric tertiary care center introduced the first-ever art therapy program, whether through activities such as drawing, painting, coloring or molding, this type of therapy allows patients to express themselves in ways words may not always be able to.

On September 20, 2023, Graduate Art Therapy Program expanded its collaboration with the Rubin Museum offering free art therapy sessions for the public.
On July 10, 2023, a collaboration between Dominican University of California's MFA in Creative Writing and PhD in Art Therapy programs connected students through poetry and collages. This two programs in the School of Liberal Arts and Education have collaborated during the annual MFA Summer Residency recently attended by 31 students on the Dominican campus.
