One of the major challenges confronting the market is the high costs associated with premium-grade vacuum greases. Premium-grade vacuum greases are typically manufactured from fluorinated oils and fluorinated thickening agents which makes them highly expensive compared to conventional greases. The high costs of premium-grade vacuum greases limit their adoption in applications which do not necessarily require their superior moisture resistance, corrosion protection, and chemical inertness properties. Many industrial users especially in price sensitive industries like automotive and electronics prefer lower cost conventional greases over premium-grade vacuum greases as they seek to reduce manufacturing costs.
