Rising number of colorectal cancer cases leads to more patients requiring ileostomies, thus, boosting demand for ileostomy appliances used in their care. Growing aging population worldwide also contributes to rising prevalence of colorectal cancer and corresponding growth in the ileostomy market. Age is a significant risk factor for colorectal cancer, with over 90% of cases occurring in people over 50 years old. As life expectancy increases globally, more people are surviving to older ages where their risk for colon cancer is highest.
