• On March 14, 2023, Illumina Inc., one of the global leaders in DNA sequencing and array-based technologies, announced the launch of its novel Illumina Complete Long Read technology. The high-performance, long-read, human whole-genome sequencing (WGS) assay, Illumina Complete Long Read Prep, Human – is compatible with Illumina NovaSeq X Plus, NovaSeq X, and NovaSeq 6000 Sequencing Systems. For the first time ever, it offers users access to both long- and short-read data on the same Illumina instrument. Illumina Complete Long Reads enables a simpler workflow with drastically reduced DNA input requirements compared to other long-read offerings.

Acquisition

• In August 2021, Genetic Technologies Limited, a company focused on genomics-based tests in health, wellness, and serious disease, announced the completion of its acquisition of EasyDNA, a DNA testing company. This acquisition gives Genetic Technologies Limited the platform to immediately access the global consumer genomics market in 40 countries.
• In May 2020, The DNA Company, a direct-to-consumer genomics startup, announced the acquisition of My Pain Sensei, a digital therapeutic company.
