• In December 2020, Hitachi ABB Power Grids a technology Company, launched a year-long trial of the world's first hybrid solution, which combines a STATCOM (static compensator) with a synchronous condenser, a four-pole motor with brushless excitation system, working with SP Energy Networks, the University of Strathclyde, and the Technical University of Denmark.
• In November 2020, Emerson, a software company, was awarded a contract from Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) for the OG&E Redbud combined-cycle plant to upgrade and unify nine disparate control systems across four units.
