Major Players - Polymerization Catalysts Industry

Polymer catalysts consist of polymers with catalytically active moiety. Typically, the catalytic moiety is affixed to the side chain of synthetic polymers like polystyrene. Polymer catalysts are utilized in a variety of organic synthesis processes. Due to the increased production of polymer compounds, need for polymerization catalysts will increase. The growth of the market for polymerization catalysts will be primarily led by expanding applications in a variety of manufacturing industries. In addition, the expanding refinery market in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific could serve as a major market driver over the forecast period. Phthalate-based catalysts are hazardous, thus strict regulations will slow industry expansion. Covid-19 is also expected to slow market growth. Polymer demand has plummeted since manufacturing stopped.

From 2022 to 2030, the market size for Polymerization Catalysts is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.90 percent.

*Definition: Polymerization catalysts are molecules that regulate the synthesis of polymer chains from monomers. Monomer incorporation can be essential, as it can determine the properties of the ultimate product. The chemist can control the physical properties of the monomer chains through a variety of means, such as the application of metal centers and ligand scaffolds. In terms of their applications, polymerization catalysts are utilized in a variety of industries. They are primarily used to manufacture plastics like bags, film cover, and milk jugs.
